Suicide Prevention Workshops: Question, Persuade, Refer at the Ferguson Library

Monday, December 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. or Wednesday, December 4 from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Presentation of the the workshop Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), a bystander intervention training program designed to teach you how to step in and help someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants will learn to recognize early warning signs, identify if someone needs help and how to take action.

The workshop will be led by certified QPR instructors Ingrid Gillespie, Director of Prevention at Liberation Programs and co-chair of the Stamford Local Prevention Council and the Stamford Youth Mental Health Alliance Mental Wellness Committee; Brittany Dube, Behavioral Health, Health Promotion, and Emergency Response Specialist at the Stamford Department of Health and Human Services; and Daniella Arias, a Prevention Coordinator with Liberation Programs.
