Pop of Color- Quilt Show at Kellogg Environmental Center: Derby

Osborne Homestead Museum and Kellogg Estate gardens 500 Hawthorne Avenue, Derby

July 25 Through July 28, 2024 Enjoy a weekend outdoor quilt show on the grounds of the Kellogg Estate. For four days the grounds will show off the color, variety and techniques of quilters from a variety of guilds and groups as well as individuals who just love to play with design. It is open to all to enjoy and you are welcome to come and picnic using the tables or spread a quilt of your own on the lawn. The show is a fair weather event and will not be outdoors if raining or if there are high winds. Call to make sure it is on display. This year our featured partner guild is teh Southford Falls Quilt Guild who will be here "Under the Trees" doing hand work and ready to answer questions and share information about quilting. Interested or new quilters are welcome to come and visit. Down the street on Hawthorne Ave. stop into Derby Neck Library where an annex display of quilts will be displayed as well- we have grown so much. Don't miss out! For more information

Stamford Acoustic Music Circle

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church 1231 Washington Blvd, Stamford

Hey fellow musicians! I’m Larissa and I’m the new organizer of the Acoustic Circle! Let’s keep this group going! I look forward to meeting you and making music together. The Greenwich Acoustic Music Circle (GAMC) is a monthly play/sing along jam for those interested in playing and singing acoustic rock.  We welcome people at INTERMEDIATE  levels of ability. Bring one PRE-1980's song and one POST-1980's song, in this way, we are not a traditional "folk music" circle. About half way through the evening, we take a break to eat/drink/mingle. It's simply an evening of sharing great songs with others in a friendly and supportive environment. For more information
