9-time Grammy Award Nominated Jazz Musician Gerald Albright and his band Gerald Albright, born and raised in Los Angeles, was an accomplished saxophonist well before he enrolled into Redlands University. Months after graduation he joined jazz pianist/ R&B singer Patrice Rushen and took the place of the bass player and finished up the tour with her playing both the saxophone and bass. He then became the consummate session and touring musician in the 1980’s, working alongside artists from Anita Baker, Ray Parker JR., The Temptations and Maurice White to Les McCann, and Whitney Houston..
