“Well Read”: Art & Banned Books Exhibition at Black Rock Books

Artist’s reception Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 4 PM – 6 PM.
This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the importance of intellectual freedom and the significant role that literature plays in shaping society.
The “Well Read” exhibition features works by ART YARD BKLYN’s Advanced Studio artists,
who created pieces inspired by books that have been banned or challenged in the United States in
2024. The artists explore themes of censorship, freedom of expression, and the impact of these
literary works through a variety of mediums, including painting, collage, and mixed media.
