Vito Schnabel Gallery: Ron Gorchov

Vito Schnabel Gallery is pleased to announce its representation of the Estate of Ron Gorchov (1930 – 2020).
In 2005, the acclaimed American abstractionist’s work was the subject of the first solo exhibition curated by gallery founder Vito Schnabel. Over ensuing years, Schnabel and Gorchov enjoyed a close relationship and together developed eight exhibitions exploring different aspects of the artist’s practice. In December 2023, Vito Schnabel Gallery paid tribute to Gorchov with a solo booth at Art Basel Miami Beach focused on his exceptional paintings of the 1970s.
Beginning September 5, the gallery’s West 19th Street location in New York City will host Ron Gorchov: Exploring the Near/Far Painterly Horizons of Modern Space, curated by Robert Storr, preeminent critic, author and artist who has previously served as Senior Curator in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art, and Dean of the Yale University School of Art. The exhibition will be on view through October 19.
