Visit the Treworgy Planetarium at Mystic Seaport

February 8 @ 1:00 pm

Free – $8

Winter Stars and the Mariner

Join us for a 30-minute live show to explore the winter evening sky. We will visit our closest neighbor in space, the Moon, before examining the wide array of visible planets in the night sky. Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible all winter, and they will be joined by Mars starting in early January! We will then explore the constellations of winter, including Orion the Hunter, Taurus the Bull, and Cassiopeia the Queen. Finally, learn how sailors used the stars to navigate across the ocean.

Polar Night, Arctic Light

Join us for a 30-minute journey above the Arctic Circle. Learn about a time of year when the Sun never rises above the horizon (Polar Night) and discover the constellations and star lore of the Inuit who call the coldest parts of our world their homes (Arctic Light).

Zoo in the Sky

Our youngest visitors are invited to join us at noon on weekends as we use our imaginations to see animal shapes in the sky. This FREE 15-minute program is designed to be an introduction to the planetarium for little ones and their families.
