Navigation Tools For The Backpacker: Map & Compass Workshop

Map and compass skills are an important set of tools for any backpacker, day hiker or adventurer. Not only do they help provide a safe and enjoyable experience, but they also open the door for exploration. No matter where you are, a map and compass will not fail you as long as you know how to use it. These navigation tools also don’t rely on satellite signal or batteries. In this session we will go over the basics of a map and a compass, use the two to navigate in a beautiful outdoor setting and use them on their along trails in Sleeping Giant State Park.
