Paul Loether is a left-handed folk singer/songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist whose expressive vocals cover a broad range of traditional and contemporary folk music—from Stephen Foster, Elizabeth Cotton, Woody Guthrie, and Pete Seeger to Tom Paxton, Bill Staines, Carrie Newcomer, and John McCutcheon; see: Boob on our TV – John McCutcheon cover (youtube.com). His usually topical originals are well-crafted and often feature pointed and humorous lyrics. Over the past three decades, Paul has performed as a solo artist throughout southern New England and the Washington, DC, area. For many years, he was a lead vocalist, guitarist, and stand-up bass player for the Chesapeake Bay-area band, Silver Strings MD. This will be Paul’s sixth “Sweet-Saturday Nights” appearance at Nightingale’s.
