Happy Birthday Connecticut’s Old State House

Join us in celebrating Connecticut’s Old State House’s 228th birthday on Saturday, May 18th from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. This free event will feature a Spring Craft Market, activities for kids, and cake made by 2023 Election Cake Bake-Off winner Amy Hodder of Amy Cakes in Wallingford. Enjoy an outdoor concert with Jake Kulak and The Modern Vandals. This event is sponsored by The Bushnell.
On May 13, 1796, Connecticut’s Legislature held their first session in their newly-constructed Hartford State House. Though threated with destruction throughout the years, the building survives and stands to celebrating its 228-year connection to American history.
