Saturday, May 11, 9 am-12 pm Our Plant Sale 2024 Each spring we host a plant sale, the proceeds of which support one or more $1000 scholarships to local high school seniors headed for a university, college, trade or certificate program. The scholarship is issued based on an interest in horticulture, landscape design, marine or environmental science, water resources, agriculture, aquaculture, or an area of study that relates to one of these topics. The scholarship is paid directly to the institution where the student will be studying and is a one-time gift. Students who are interested should contact their school counselor. The 2024 deadline for receipt of scholarship applications is March 15. For more information

Hart House Heritage Garden Perennial Plant Sale

Old Saybrook Historical Society 350 Main Street, Old Saybrook

The Historical Society’s Heritage Garden is selling potted plants from its pollinator friendly flower beds. The perennials are divided from the various flowering perennials, culinary and medicinal herbs and other native wildflower plants known to have grown during the colonial period. The plants come from both the wildflower and shade garden beds, including a variety of “pollinator magnets” from the sunny beds. The bare-roots have been washed to avoid possible transfer of contaminates and potted in Coast of Maine brand organic growers mix generously donated by Saybrook Hardware.  Price range: $10. There will also be a bargain rummage table with used garden tools, books, vases and pots, etc. Cash, credit cards OK. For more information

New Canaan Food Revolution: A Tasting Event Fundraiser for The Sunshine Kids

The New Canaan Food Revolution, founded by Jamie Oliver returns for a 9th year on Saturday, May 18th between 9.30–11:45am.
