Camp Aldrich Registration is Now Open

Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum 258 Main Street, Ridgefield

Join us at The Aldrich for a full-day, week-long arts experience with Museum Educators and a practicing teaching artist. Campers explore the Museum’s three-acre campus, learn in the galleries, and incorporate the world around them into their art.   Each week, campers will be guided through art-making workshops and activities led by a professional, practicing artist and our dedicated team of camp counselors. Weeks are tailored to specific age groups for the ultimate creative learning environment. Each session culminates in a celebration for family and friends on Friday evenings, displaying works of art that the campers developed throughout the week. Children’s Summer on Stage: Sleeping Beauty: Session One at The Garde

July 15 – July 20 Summer on Stage is an unforgettable week-long summer theater experience at the Garde Arts Center with the Missoula Children’s Theatre! Up to 60 students will rehearse for the whole week and attend a variety of workshops, then put on two performances of an original musical with the Missoula Children’s Theater, the nation’s largest touring children’s theater.  Participants will learn about many facets of theater giving them skills in presentation, confidence, self-expression and knowledge of related technical elements such as stage make-up, sound, and lighting. Concert on the Green: Sing and Play with Mrs. Bergin at La Grua Center: Stonington

Join Ms. Bergin, beloved local children’s musician for an hour of music and singing. Bergin O’Malley, a pop-folk singer songwriter, first started writing children’s music twelve years ago when she was pregnant with her first child Emmett. Along with her singing partner, Melissa Haith, she wrote and released two children’s albums, Sing and Play Together, full of upbeat, catchy songs. Ms. Bergin’s original music celebrates the simple joys of childhood, the bonds of families, the magic of colors and more. Her “Stonington Song” has become somewhat of a local anthem for children and grownups alike. Exploring Artism: A Program for Families with Children on the Autism Spectrum

Courtland S. Wilson Library 303 Washington Avenue, New Haven

Join Yale Center for British Art educators to explore works of art, practice social skills, and have fun! Exploring Artism is a free program for children who are five to twelve years of age and on the autism spectrum. Children and their families, parents, siblings, and other relatives will find a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Participants practice social skills and learn ways to sustain attention and focus by exploring works of art and trying no-fail follow up-activities. A quiet space with sensory toys is available. This program will take place at Courtland S. Wilson Library, New Haven Free Public Library, Community Program Room, 303 Washington Avenue, New Haven, CT 06519. Free parking is available. Exploring Artism program is facilitated by the YCBA education department in consultation with the Yale Child Study Center and is recommended by the Autism Parents Community (APC).
