OLD LYME — Two cars were stolen and multiple cars were broken into early Wednesday morning, according to State Trooper Matthew Weber.

Weber told CT Examiner on Tuesday afternoon that two vehicles, a Lexus and a Volvo, were discovered stolen from the same residence on Sill Lane around 11 a.m.

About four other vehicles off of Witchwood Road and Victoria Lane that had been left unlocked overnight were broken into, Weber said. He estimated that both the break-ins and the thefts occurred around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Weber said that, according to the car owners, nothing of value had been taken from the cars. The Lexus was retrieved in New Britain. The Volvo is still missing.

He told CT Examiner that there was an additional car stolen in nearby Essex.

Weber said that he assumes the perpetrators were juveniles, and that he expects the Volvo will also be retrieved soon.

“Usually they turn up in a couple days now,” said Weber.

The likelihood of catching the perpetrators, on the other hand?

“That’s pretty slim,” Weber said.
