To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to endorse Tammy Tinnerello for election to another term on the Zoning Commission. She has served on the Zoning Commission in Old Lyme for five years and is the current Vice-Chair. Over the past five years, she has helped navigate several challenging and controversial matters brought before the commission.

During her zoning commission service, Tammy has demonstrated the two requisite traits that all voters deserve from zoning officials. First, she has shown through deliberations and hearings her intimate and in-depth familiarity with the Old Lyme Zoning Regulations. Secondly, she has conducted herself in an impartial and fair way. She is passionate about fairness to all applicants while preserving the unique character of Old Lyme through prudent enforcement of the zoning regulations.

There are a number of controversial property proposals being pursued in Old Lyme which will likely come before the zoning commission in the coming few years. Proper hearing and consideration of these proposals will require extensive knowledge of the regulations and a caution but fair analysis of the compliance of such matters with those guiding regulations. Tammy will meet these challenges carefully and competently.

Tammy is a professional real estate agent in Old Lyme and has the respect of her colleagues and clients. She has never allowed her profession to cloud her wise decisions on zoning issues. And Tammy knows Old Lyme and its citizens well. She has resided in town for over 20 years and all four of her children attended Region 18 schools.

I strongly encourage you to vote for Tammy Tinnerello for the Zoning Commission on November 7, 2023. She has the knowledge and sense of fairness needed on the zoning commission. Tammy has the right stuff.

Respectfully Yours,

Christine Frederiks
