The Mushroom Cloud’s 11 Year Anniversary Party

The Mushroom Cloud has been a staple of New Haven’s music scene through a stellar blend of heavy rock riffs, funky rhythms, electronic beats and an improvisational vibe. They’ve been doing this for over a decade and this anniversary celebration is much deserved. Fellow local funk masters Canopy and Residual Groove will be rounding out the bill.

For the past few years the “Tour For Life” has been spreading mental health awareness all over Connecticut and beyond through putting on stacked hip hop shows to benefit the charity organization Mental Health Connecticut. This upcoming edition is part of the “Full Blast Winter Tour” with the legendary rapper Rah Digga headlining. There’s going to be a ton of openers as well including Konflik, Ms. Laura Michelle, Goat Squad, East Cali, Lady J, just to name a few.

As part of their “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Co-Headlining Tour,” Sarah Borges and Miss Tess will each be bringing their own style of rock & roll. The Boston based Borges will be performing with her backing band The Broken Singles while Miss Tess will be taking the stage to play her retro leaning blues and R&B infused music straight from Nashville. These women are award-winning musicians who shouldn’t go overlooked.

Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Bumpin Uglies have an infectious reggae punk sound with a major focus on lyrics and grooves that are bound to get an audience moving. This past September they released their seventh studio album Mid-Atlantic Dub that features various special guests including Ballyhoo!, The Elovaters, Tropidelic and many others. This upcoming show is part of their tour in support of the release with fellow Annapolis band Pressing Strings kicking the night off.

Another co-headlining show on this edition of The Rundown features rappin’ blues innovator G. Love and surf rocker Donovon Frankenreiter. They’re going to be rolling through the Wolf Den within Mohegan Sun as part of “Flying Embers Tour”, which is being presented by the hard kombucha, hard seltzer and canned cocktail company of the same name. It’s also a free show, so if you’re of age then you absolutely should go.
