To the Editor:

I’ve received a number of campaign mailers from Republican candidates trying to scare voters in Greenwich by using affordable housing and local control to create fear, even though all of the Greenwich Democrats and Republicans support local decision making.

But it’s what Republicans aren’t telling you that should make you most afraid. And it’s why I’m voting for Rachel Khanna for State Representative.

Rachel supports balanced budgets, will fight against tax increases and supports eliminating the estate and gift taxes. Kimberly Fiorello voted against the balanced, no tax increase budget and paying down pension debt that will save us $440 million every year.

Governor Lamont has endorsed Rachel, and she is committed to partnering with him to continue to implement the fiscally responsible measures that have earned our state an upgrade to AA/A+ from all four rating agencies. This is a huge deal, as it means should we need to borrow at any time in the future it will cost taxpayers LESS.

Rachel supports women, and will fight to safeguard our right to abortion care, secure pay equity, and protect us from domestic and gun violence. Kimberly Fiorello voted against all of these measures.

Rachel is endorsed by CT Against Gun Violence and is recognized by Moms Demand Action as a Gun Sense Candidate of distinction because she supports common sense gun laws that keep us safe. She supports the assault weapons ban that Ms. Fiorello’s colleagues in the Conservative Caucus are suing to overturn.

On all issues, not just one, Rachel Khanna represents us best. She will work to improve our economy, bring jobs to our state, and protect our rights.

Please join me in voting for Rachel Khanna on November 8th.
