To the Editor:

My name is Wilfredo Martinez, Chairman of the Bridgeport Independent Party and I am writing to my fellow Bridgeport and Fairfield voters, asking you to vote for Mike Grant as your next State Representative in the 133rd district. Mike has not only earned the endorsement of the Independent Party, but he has also been endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police by promising to help restore law and order in Connecticut through the legislature.

As a Bail Enforcement Agent myself, I can tell you first-hand about how the Police Accountability Act has hurt law enforcement’s ability to apprehend suspects. I can also tell you how bad the juvenile recidivism rates have become, since perpetrators are no longer held accountable. Like me, Mike is concerned about our community’s safety. He shares my belief that we should invest in School Resource Officers to improve the security of our schools and protect our children. He believes that we need to hold repeat offenders accountable. Connecticut is becoming less safe under the extremist policy positions of Working Families Party candidates, who are pushing to defund school resource officers and first responders in our cities and towns. They are trying to tell you that it is not happening. It is happening.

Please vote row D on November 8th, for true independent thinkers, like Mike and myself; not politicians who only represent their party’s interests at the expense of you and our community.

Wilfredo Martinez
Bridgeport Independent Party Chairman
