I am a self-employed small business owner, running a health and wellness company “Health Is Wealth”. In my city of Stamford I am also known for “Be Part of the Solution”- a 15 year long running, free, fitness program for underserved youth. Being my own boss, servicing my clients and Stamford community to see them get healthy results, and following my instinct to keep making my business better is what I do.
I am also a father of two children, one of whom is special needs. This means, I know human compassion and I know human meanness. There is nowhere I find more coldness than in government policies that harm middle class people like me. Connecticut government policies are driving up the cost of my electric bills, my grocery bills, my health insurance costs, my cell phone bills, not to mention my state and local taxes.
I am also an immigrant from Haiti, who knows by instinct that America is a very special country. There is no place like the United States where someone like me can start a business, get married, have a family, send my daughter to a top liberal arts college, and take care of my special needs son, and at the end of the day, after dinner, I can take a walk in the neighborhood with my wife feeling safe, or I used to be able to.

I am a black conservative Republican. I ran for office in Stamford for State Representative in 2012. I ran because I love people and I want to do the right thing. I see that same kind of simple approach to serving with State Rep. Kimberly Fiorello. She is kind and caring. She is real. What you see is what you get. Sure, there is always room for improvement but I trust her.
I see the attacks the Democrats are launching against her. It’s all about personal attacks. Her opponent says Kimberly voted against funding Stamford schools. Was there one single bill that said, “here is money for Stamford” and Kimberly voted no? Of course not. There was a 700-paged budget bill that dropped at 4 o’clock in the morning on the same day of the vote. Slipped inside this bloated, pork-filled bill was the Stamford money. Democrats lie. Remember, “you can keep your doctor.”
Democrats say Kimberly’s opponent is the real fiscal conservative and she will manage our tax money better than Kimberly. Seriously? The other person has no track record of fiscal conservatism and is a member of the Democrat party that delivered us this crushing inflation with all their printing of money. She is better than Kimberly? I don’t think so.
Democrats says Kimberly voted No, No, No. What that tells me is that the Democrat candidate will say Yes, Yes, Yes. So, how is that fiscally responsible? Being budget-conscious and respectful of other people’s money means saying No, No, No.
I don’t know this opponent but I saw her flyer. It says, “I never imagined running for State Representative…” so then, why start now? She says because of abortion rights. Does this person know she lives in Connecticut, one of the most Democrat states in the country. Abortion is a distraction from the real issues on the table.
Democrats have signaled for us all how special State Representative Kimberly Fiorello is. In all my years of living in Stamford, I have never seen attacks like this against a state representative. The fact that Democrats want to get rid of her is all I need to know.
Thank you, State Representative Kimberly Fiorello. I know you will win this November. And I am going to help you go door to door.
