For Old Lyme, no one has been a stronger leader than First Selectman Tim Griswold. I have gotten to know Tim as extremely knowledgeable on municipal issues, as a steady hand during the COVID crisis, and as a fiscal conservative who always fights for the taxpayer. He has the decision-making capabilities we need to move Old Lyme forward and to guide us as we continue to deal with the issues COVID brings. He believes Old Lyme is a welcoming, generous community and routinely promotes our businesses. In addition, his partnership to me has been essential in information sharing and grant opportunities.

His running mate, Matt Ward, has been a hard-working, well-respected, and dedicated public servant for nearly his whole life. Serving as a State Police officer is no easy task and Matt knows the ins and outs of government budgets and how to run departments. He will put our public safety first, which is ideal during these times where we are seeing higher break-ins.

Both Tim and Matt are passionate family men who raised their children in Old Lyme and want only what is best for our community and everyone’s kids. In addition, Jude Read, Andy Russell, Maria Carrao Marchant, and Matt Olson will continue to serve our town with fiscal restraint and accountability. We need their voices on the Board of Finance. Due to the overreach of state government on issues such as education and planning & zoning, I strongly encourage folks to vote for the Republican team. The Republican candidates will work to keep home rule, fight against state government overreach – including higher taxes, and combat forced school regionalization and educational mandates. I will be voting for the Old Lyme Republican candidates on Row B and I hope you will too on November 2nd. Thank you.
