Soupy Making 101 at the United Theater in Westerly
Kickoff SoupyFest season by stepping inside Westerly’s most beloved food tradition with a live Soupy making demonstration for beginners presented by the UNITED and Westerly Packing Company. Guests will learn by watching a live demonstration of the full Soupy-making process on the UNITED stage, from grinding the meat and seasoning it just right, to stuffing the casings and understanding the careful art of curing and hanging, all guided by those who know Soupy best. Along the way, we’ll share the history and regional nuances that make Westerly Soupy distinct, and explain how time and technique bring it to perfection by spring. This event is presented in partnership with Westerly Packing Company and hosted by Bruno and Medoro Trombino. Each patron will receive a few slices of Soupy of various heats to enjoy as they learn about Soupy spices.
This event is part of the 2026 SoupyFest Series at the UNITED – a lineup of special events celebrating Italian culture and heritage and leading up to the UNITED’s annual SoupyFest celebration on April 11th.
