Park City Music Hall: Artie Tobia & Early Man Jam

Artie Tobia developed his craft upon discovering and being influenced by some of the great Texas songwriters. In finding his voice in stories full of characters from everyday life, his lyrics came to the forefront of his songs. Tobia’s song catalog of originals is well over a hundred songs, where you will find elements of rock, country, folk and blues on his albums and on stage.
Early Man Jam delivers groove-laden rock with a raw edge—blending blues, funk, and rock ’n roll. Their sound pulls you into that late-night blues joint on the edge of town, flirting with funk. While the band’s original tracks are front and center, they give a nod to influences like Clapton, the Dead, and J.J. Cale reminding you what brought them together.
Frontman Dave Fowler—singer, guitarist, and songwriter—has been the driving force behind Early Man Jam’s sound, writing songs since the mid-90s. His vision sets the tone, but it’s the band’s collective input that brings the music to life. Shawn Levin (guitar) adds sharp, complementary lines to Dave’s blueprint, while Mark Searles (bass) and Eric Wuchiski (drums) lock in the deep, rhythmic pulse that defines the band’s groove-heavy rock sound.
