Jaws Celebration Events! Drones! Fun! at the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival in New London 2025

September 6 & 7, 2025
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival announces a groundbreaking addition to its 2025 lineup:
Southeastern Connecticut's first-ever drone show! This spectacular aerial display will light up the night sky, adding a modern marvel to a festival already packed with maritime excitement.
The festival, presented by OpSail Connecticut, Inc. (OpSail CT), will take place on Saturday and
Sunday, September 6-7, at Fort Trumbull State Park and the New London Waterfront Park.
This year's festival also proudly celebrates the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy, honoring its rich history and enduring legacy with special exhibits and programming.
Also, prepare to dive into cinematic history with the legendary ORCA replica from the classic
film JAWS, marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic movie. In an exciting development,
Jeffrey Voorhees, the actor who famously played Alex Kintner – the young boy attacked by the
shark in JAWS – will be a special guest at the festival. Fans will have a unique opportunity to
meet a piece of cinematic history as Voorhees joins the celebration.
