Envision Plum Island Preserved [ZOOM]

January 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Plum Island, a federally owned part of the Town of Southold only a mile and a half off the North Fork, is of national significance for its natural beauty, native wildlife and plant life, historical importance, and cultural heritage. As the world-renowned Plum Island Animal Disease Center prepares to move its mission to new quarters in Kansas, the Preserve Plum Island Coalition continues to advocate for comprehensive conservation and management solutions that safeguard this national treasure in the public trust. Louise Harrison, Long Island Project Manager and Senior Science Advisor at Save the Sound, will present a photographic tour of the island, the argument for preservation, and an update on the latest status of the campaign to preserve Plum Island in perpetuity.
