Concert: Arlene Wow! at Friday Night Folk: New London
October 11 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
$10 – $20Arlene has long had an affinity for music. Born in Connecticut of Cuban immigrant parents, she flourished in her multicultural upbringing. Arlene began to write her own compositions early. She taught herself guitar by listening to artists such as Heart, Led Zepplin and The Runaways. American and Latin music were an influence from the beginning.
Arlene’s albums include Red is Becoming and Ear Candy for the Soul. “Train Song” is a composition about the late Johnny Cash and was written, produced and recorded by Arlene at her mobile studio. The song “Si No Me Quieres” is a Spanish lament — it was recorded and engineered by Hugh Birdsall of Dogbite and the Reducers. Her next album is coming soon–you’ll hear some of those songs, too.
