The Bridgeport Film Festival is thrilled to announce that early-bird tickets are now on sale for the highly anticipated fourth annual event, taking place from September 13th through the 15th at the historic Klein Memorial Auditorium, with additional satellite screenings and events at the Connecticut State Community College at Housatonic.
This year’s festival will showcase over 90 independent short films from twelve different countries, organized into twelve thematic programming blocks. Highlights include Hometown Glory honoring films made by our local Connecticut filmmakers, Black Voices Matter featuring narratives focused on the Black and African American experience globally and how it relates to Bridgeport, Spoken OutLoud celebrating the diversity of LGBTQIA+ voices and The Latin Lens a kick off to Hispanic Heritage month, and more! Executive Director and Bridgeport Native, Jason A. Coombs shared, “the film fest is not just a celebration of global independent cinema, where dozens of filmmakers and artists gather to showcase their work, but also a catalyst for our local community to change the narrative of Bridgeport. It inspires and empowers aspiring storytellers from our city by providing them with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to write scripts, pick up cameras, and share their unique narratives with the world.”
