To the Editor:
Beyond the proposed sewer plan for Soundview and Area B what are the plans for sewers in other densely populated neighborhood in Old Lyme such as Rogers Lake, Hawk’s Nest and Hall’s Road? Is the Soundview and Area B sewer plan the right plan for these neighborhoods?
It is foolish to make decisions on Soundview and Area B without understanding the future needs for septic upgrades in all areas of town. We need a master plan to best understand a way forward.
The plan recently approved for referendum by Old Lyme’s Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance is shortsighted and lacking in information, including cost sharing, required for Old Lyme property owners to make an informed decision.
I urge voters to vote no on the upcoming referendum to approve the Soundview and Area B sewer plan.
