To the Editor:
Portia Bordelon is as obstinate as a mule but stronger than an ox.
Four and a half hours. I had two styes starting, crick in my neck and was ready to pop some blood pressure medication as I walked out of the Annext at 11 p.m.
But you know what? For all her interruptions, catty remarks, repeatedly going over the time limit, so many points of order I lost count, a few down right inflammatory actions and sometimes just plain talking too much… she cares. And not only does she care. But she exemplifies the duty members of government have to serve the people. Grind it out. And to get it right.
Portia Bordelon grasped what some others on the council seemed not to. They don’t have enough information about the Main Street Reconstruction.
Hold a hearing. Listen. Get more information. That is good government. Good judgement. Good service and advice from a difficult person that I have a lot of respect for.
