Noise rock act Pile have been one of the most talented bands to come out of Boston ever since the late 2000s, and their ninth album “Sunshine and Balance Beams”, which came out on August 15 via Sooper Records, is one of the best rock records to come out so far this year. The quartet of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Rick Maguire, fellow multi-instrumentalist Alex Molini, guitarist Matt Connery, and drummer and percussionist Kris Kuss have a knack for putting on a fantastic performance, so attending this show is highly recommended. It’s also highly recommended to show up in a prompt manner because the Chicago alt-pop artist Nnamdï, who is also a co-founder of Sooper Records, will be opening up the show.

Mickey Blurr

Incorporating elements of punk, jazz and R&B, Brooklyn based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mickey Blurr has a unique musical approach. He’s headlining a stacked bill featuring local acts Ports of Spain, The Problem With Kids Today and Qween Kong. Ports of Spain will also be filming and recording their performance and each person who attends will receive a download code for an unreleased single.

Everclear

Portland, Oregon alt-rock act Everclear are one of the many bands from the ‘90s who still have their songs being played on the radio, and they’re still touring these days. In fact, their upcoming tour is ringing in the 30th anniversary of their 1995 sophomore album “Sparkle and Fade”, which features the hits “Santa Monica” and “Heartspark Dollarsign”, and it’s making a stop at the most legendary venue in Connecticut. This sold out show also has fellow alt-rockers Local H and Sponge on the bill, so make sure to arrive on time to get the entire experience if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket.

Indigo De Souza

There are musicians who make what they create into pure art, and Indigo De Souza is a stellar example. A native of Danbury, she initially forged a presence within the art and music scene of Asheville, North Carolina during her late teens while exhibiting a fusion of indie pop and alternative rock. Her latest album “Precipice” that came on July 25 via Loma Vista Recordings is incredible, so expect to see her perform a few songs off of it as part of this homecoming show.

With Halloween coming up, there’s going to be a few people wearing masks, but how about an entire band? This is what the instrumental rock act Los Straitjackets have going on. With each member wearing a luchador mask, this band has a really cool surf rock sound and they’ve recently been collaborating with the British rock and new wave legend Nick Lowe. They also released a new album titled “Somos” on September 19 via Pacifica Music and Yep Roc Records, so give it a listen before heading to the show.
