We have some very qualified candidates running for elected office this year. Not many towns can say an accountant serves as their Treasurer but here in North Stonington, Mustapha Ratib is both an accountant and our Treasurer. It is critically important we have someone qualified in this role who understands finances. Not only is Mustapha an accountant but he spent nearly a decade on the Board of Finance where he was a chief architect of our budgets. We are truly fortunate to have someone like Mustapha willing to run for this position.

We have two highly qualified women who have stepped up to the plate to serve as Selectwomen; Toula Balestracci and Nicole Porter. Toula is a bookkeeper and Realtor and a North Stonington native. Her experience on boards in town as well as her professional experience will help her hit the ground running. In addition, Nicole Porter has also been serving on boards in town and her professional experience as well as her family history (her Dad was a past Selectman in Stonington), will make her a perfect fit. With this team helping lead our town we can be proud and confident of the direction North Stonington is heading.

There are many other wonderful candidates on the ballot this year for our Town and we are thankful for all of those who have stepped up to serve. These three races are contested and I enthusiastically encourage everyone to vote for Ratib, Balestracci & Porter on November 2nd! They need your votes and support! Polls are open in North Stonington from 6am-8pm on Tuesday November 2nd at 298 Norwich Westerly Road.
