Avinu Malcheinu,  Our Father, Our King

From different faith traditions, our professional and volunteer care-givers in hospitals, private practice and first-responders come before You dedicated to the preservation of lives, even while putting themselves in harm’s way

You have led each one to choose his/her path, every act of which honors the gift of life You have given us … and the patients they care for.

We humbly ask You to be manifestly present in the spirit of each and every care-giver and first responder.

Guide each care-giver to mindful reflection,

wise decisions,

competent acts

and compassionate gestures.

For those who can be cured and restored to full health, we praise You.

For those whose healing may still have sequels, we ask Your mercy.

For those journeying towards Your presence, we ask Your grace.

For patients’ families and friends who live between fear and hope,

For families and loved ones, who don’t always understand daily pressures care-givers face,

And for care-givers themselves, who too often feel powerless to make things “right”,

For all, we ask Your blessings of comfort and peace.

Oseh shalom bim’romav

Hu ya-aseh shalom aleinu

Ve’a kol yisroel, ve’a kol yoshvey tevel,  vimru amen

May He who causes peace to reign in the high heavens,

Let peace descend on us, on all Israel, and all the world,

And let us say, “Amen.”
